I don't know about y'all, but this year has already included major shifts.
The heart is even more wide open, experiencing even more fullness of life.
It is as though the infinite has become more infinite - it is beautiful, magical, grounding, and humbling.
We will be posting here weekly and we are so excited to offically begin this journey with you!
A little bit of our history! Heart First's work began in September visiting Mount Prospect Elementary in Basking Ridge, NJ. I've had the gift of working closely with Joanne Hozeny (Principal) and Mike Pepitone (Vice Principal) in working towards their building goals of refining school culture and building community among
the teaching staff. To this end, we worked through identity concepts and our multiple identities, identifying core values and
their links to our identities, and how to use the totality of the day's activities as foundations to build understanding with one another to enhance self-efficacy and refine school culture and climate. Heart First was invited at the start of the new year to revisit these topics. We engaged in self-reflection thinking upon our multiple positionalities and core values, and identified goals to continue to strive towards.
Now that we are at 23 January 2023, Heart First is so excited to share with you our first e-book "23 Ways to Put Heart in Schools in 2023."
The e-book has insights that are applicable to any walk of life, though we admit that those involved in schooling spaces (from parents to administrators and additional stakeholders) may see more direct connections between practices contained and enhancing individuals' outlooks and re-shaping school culture through the perspective of HEART.
